ExpertCalculator respects your privacy. This policy explains what limited data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

ExpertCalculator is operated by Sunith Babu L, Ph.D., based in Bengaluru, India. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to ExpertCalculator. The data controller for the purposes of GDPR is the same individual.

2. What we collect
We aim to collect the minimum data necessary to operate the website. Specifically:
2.1 Automatically collected information
- Server log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, date/time of visit. Retained 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookies Policy for details.
2.2 Information from advertising partners
ExpertCalculator displays advertisements via Google AdSense. Google may collect data about your browsing on this and other websites to serve relevant ads. Google's practices are governed by their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
2.3 Information you provide
If you contact us via email, we retain your message and email address only for the purpose of responding. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Art. 6)
- Legitimate interests — operating the website, security, and analytics in aggregate form.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time via your browser settings or our cookie banner.
- Legal obligation — for retention of server logs as required by applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with any party other than our service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising — listed below) under contracts requiring confidentiality.

8. Children's privacy
ExpertCalculator is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover such collection, we will delete the data promptly.
9. Data retention
Server logs are retained for 30 days. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to address your request and for a reasonable period after for record-keeping. Cookies have varying lifetimes as described in our Cookies Policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for 30 days before taking effect.
